Effect of temperature on tyre pressures
Someone was asking me the other day what effect temperature has on tyre pressures so I had a go at working it out. I reckon that a 20 degree (centegrade) change in temperature will lead to a 2 to 3 PSI change in tyre pressure (god bless A-level physics - no-one else will).
Does this sound right?
Does this sound right?
P1/T1 = P2/T2, right?
Can't remember whether that's Charles' Law, Boyle's Law or Hook's Law, but I know I had to learn a whole load of equations about the inter-relationship between pressure, volume and temperature for GCSE physics!
