There really are some poor specimens of humanity out there, aren't there?

I was leaving a mate's bbq tonight at about 10pm and we were chatting by my car parked outside his house, when some louts shot past in a white van doing about 50 in a 30, one of them hurled a couple of eggs out of the passenger side window - one striking me, the other my S2K.

My mate got the license number of the van, but I'm guessing it's probably stolen - he's phoning it through to the local police anyway.

Fortunately neither me or the car were damaged, but my neighbours must be thinking me even more mad as I was out washing my car down at 10:30pm by the light of a street lamp when I got home.

Your surname's not Prescott is it?

I dunno what the world's coming to, what with Subaru's shite luck today and Roadies misfortune too.

And what are the police doin?....playin space invaders in the back of their illegally parked vans, letting the real to$$ers get away with it.

I give up.............

Thats a shame its happened to such a recent owner. But after the situations I`ve been involved with on her majestys highways NOTHING would surprise me.

There are some no brain thugs out there; sometimes law has to be taken into your own hands.

We have recently had a carpark, by a lake we fish, have all its cars screwed. So a little get together one evening, on this carpark, by a lake I cannot name and, well, the poor 2 that turned up in their little Fiesta, won`t want any of our radios again. I don`t condone this sort of activity as Mr Farmer proves, it sometimes `backfires` (pun intended). But sometimes, one language is all these people understand.

Really sorry to hear about that John. What some of these to$$ers do to entertain themselves defies belief. I often think if they had any brains they could be dangerous.

Unfortunately I tend to agree with CC's comment that the only language these low life understand is their own...

I can`t detail too much here but there were a number of guys, of which one is a chap that is quite entwined with some pretty thuggy mates. Well imagine a purely fictional story where 7 of these people, lay in wait, behind a hedge and at about 3 in the morning a car turns up on an isolated car park - out get 2 approx 19-20 yo lads, these 19 yo lads start to p!ss about with a blokes car (who is not part of the 7) then the two are set about, stripped and dumped in their car. In this story, they don`t know who`s done `em. They just know if they come to the car park again they could expect this sort of action. There is more to this story and it all begins at another carpark about 8 months ago....it`s bloody interesting actually.

Not the first one of its type either. We had another big time scrote around here doing cars about 3 years ago. This was well documented in my local press. The lad got his house broken into, he was dragged out of bed, done over, then stripped, tarred and feathered. He was attached to a street light at about 4:00 am on an out road in Congleton. Car crime virtually stopped. There were signs in Congleton on lamp posts (like vigilante signs), pretty strange time that. He was pretty ill from all of this, like very ill. The police tried to find the people that attacked him......but never did........

That's sooooooooooooo over the top!

How could the vigilantes leave him tied to a streetlight like that?

Nope. Total truth. It was in the local Guardian for weeks, the police went mental about it. There was some right uproar as the lad was very very ill. There was a rumour that one of the vigi`s was a copper, this was never proven. Totally true story.
My comments are in the context of I think I know that you know that I know what you are saying, particularly the earlier story.

As for that true story, you can't really blame people can you? When vehicle and property crime reaches epidemic proportions and the police seem powerless to stop it (whilst able to vigourously police speeding) people will inevitably resort to direct action.

I don't know when people will wake up to the fact that treating crims with kid gloves doesn't work.

I believe it changed in the sixties, maybe with some justification, but the pendulum swung too far to the liberal side. I say we have had long enough with a failed experiment. Let's try 20 years of Singapore and New York style zero tolerance and punishment.

One things for sure, the current system isn't working!

That's it - idea for new contentious thread - over to off-topic.
