OK, so the story goes like this:

1. 1st ever track day for me, Brands Hatch. Perfect day.
2. Briefing and everything goes well.
3. 3 sighting laps

No idea I'm afraid hun but it sounds pretty bad luck if the car's only done 27k miles. Mind you, 27k miles in 5 years, it's probably in shock after a track day !!

Sorry to hear this

Well it will be cheaper than if it had blown but you're still going to be looking at an engine rebuild.

Might be cheaper just to get a complete engine second hand

Best not to run it - if there is metal now circulating in your oil etc...
