Is that not the timing chain tensioner?

Mine was replaced under warranty a few months ago as it was making a ticking sound on idle.

The timing "Chain" is not a belt, it's a chain (the clue is in the name!)

The visible belts you can see will be the Aux drive belt and fan belt and NOT the Timing Chain!

The timing chain is housed inside the engine block and is therefore not visible from the outside

Your drive belts may be perished and need replaced though.

What a mong!

He needs glasses.

My 'serpentine belt' (the tech's phraseology, not mine) was replaced under warranty a couple of weeks ago as it was looking frayed. Its the big thing about 1" wide that winds its way around those rollers & stuff on the front. (can you tell the amount of technical expertise? ).

what does it drive? alternator? air con pump maybe? the power steering is electric is it not? i don't fiddle under the bonnet but he should be aware there is a belt there.

timing chain is inside.. quite substantial.. timing belts are not suitable for a car that 'revs like a fekka'
