Default Engine Cutting Out

Just about to ring Honda to book it in for diagnostics but thought i'd see if anyone else had had this experience.

3 Times this weekend the car has totally cut, on all three occasions it has been when the car has pretty much stopped or is stationary, so at very low revs already, then it restarts fine..... any ideas??

Typical S2000 Gremlin i'm afraid!

Check the following.

Oil
Spark Plugs
MAP Sensor
Reset ECU

thanks lloyd, i know oil is fine as i checked it on thursday, as the car is still in warrenty i'll mention these other points to honda...

the problem is with these things, as they are intermittent, it probably wont cut out while it is at the garage, and they wont find any problem!!!

Mine used to do it a lot! Fitted a new MAP sensor in the end & fine ever since!

Hopefully main dealer will know about this problem

Luckily you're under warranty. I hope you've checked the oil, because if they find you haven't and it's low, you could be in for a very big repair bill -

It won't be oil. Trust me, that will not be intermittent. It would normally be terminal.

Forget plugs.

The only time I have had a problem was an alarm and key mix up. The problem is most likely electrical. It is possibly fuel supply, but that is second choice. Get the car plugged into a dealers diagnostic kit.

Someone (volunteer, please!) had a problem with corrosion where the loom joins between engine bay and the passenger cell. Not an obvious one, so you may have to mention it.
