Default Engine light after a spin?

Had a big spin on track today doing 90mph+, car went backwards during the spin and stalled. Didn't have time to think about getting the clutch down and had to pump the throttle to get it started again. Reset the ecu to get rid of the light but curious if anyone else has had this? Other than that car was good fun, pedal travel feels a bit further than usual now on the brake though.

A bit daft to reset the light without checking the code first, could be something simple but you won't know now

Brakes are separate - you've probably boiled the fluid or glazed the pads.

It may throw a CEL due to you reversing it fast with the car in a forward gear and thus filling the inlet manifold with exhaust gases and it registering a misfire as they don't burn well. Which is also why you have to crank it a bit to re-start.

Thanks for your valued input. The car was running fine with the light on, I wanted to clear it hence the reset.

If I boiled the fluid will it need bleeding and replacing? I've got grooved discs which supposedly deglaze the pads. It was my first time on track in my own car so new to this side of things.

Someone else said the same regarding the engine light on the day and not to worry, apparently with some ferraris they can blow the inlet manifolds off when the same thing happens!

Yeah maybe, it was a big spin. I caught it after the back end broke loose but didn't put on the opposite lock quick enough which then caused the car snap back the other way. Not worried as the engine has been no different since just wondered if other people have had it happen to them.

This is pretty common. The engine doesn't like going backwards. A clear and reset and it shouldn't come back.

Seen this a few times at Knockhill on track days, various cars not just Hondas, cold rear tyres through the chicane are a No no.
