I have noiced for about 6 months that my engine sounds i little bit more tappy than usual.

It not nocking or anything, oil cheked and topped up every sunday like clockwork.

I was just wondering if any one knows more about this as im not very clued up on this engine.

Yes, the car is mint, serviced on time every time and since i have owned it oil changed every 4.5k I use Motule 5W 40 oil as recommended by many.

Just wondering if we have tappets or something lol

 

valve clearances are adjusted every 3 years/27k.. so i guess yours are due in this years service?

 

The S injectors do get a bit noisy with time but we do have Tappets, but they should have been done on the 27k service. Not got a service schedule in front of me but I think it is the third service. Might be worth checking they have been done.

Mine need doing (will be doing myself this weekend) and its only done 21k
