Ouch, feel for you matey.Should we all be checking our plugs now? How long ago did you last have the plugs out?

 

What you need to ask for is a heli coil insert fitted, this looks like a tight spring but in fact is an insert with thread on inside and outside, the block is drilled and tapped to the outside thread dia then the insert is fitted using permanent lock tight. Its a permanent solution and should give you no problems in future but you will have to remove the head to do it.

Had an engine blow up there not so long ago so i know how you feel....My own feelings is the honda wont give you any sort of help what so ever even if they do the work...

I think I need to check my plugs - I didn't realise this was affecting '04+ models!

 

As far as I am aware *all* models have spark plugs.

 

Can you clarify this post Chris. Are you saying they should be tighter than stated in the service manual or not?

I checked mine yesterday and I torqued mine to 25Nm as per the manual so I'm looking for clarification myself.
