Default Err Dead S2000

Driving back from getting Oil cooler from DeBurr (Kris) and the engine dies just after pulling away from traffic lights at M6 Jct 3. Front mounted cooler is fitted to the car now, but not plumbed in to the oil filter so this shouldn't affect anything, also checked all plugs in immediate area just in case anything has been dislodged.

Engine makes a loud noise, not really a bang but more like a violent splutter.

Anyway, didn't want to bother with RAC mechanic turning up after 2 hours and then needing a flat bed another 2 hours later so just got a flat bed and car is now home.

Anyway, on to the characteristics now..

I have had some weird rattling noise when the car starts for a couple of days, but it goes as soon as the engine is warm, was going to take it into the garage next week as it has been a bit hectic recently.

So I immediately thought timing chain / other gubbings in that area.
However engine now still turns over but will not fire, cam's are still turning when the engine is turning over, no CEL, no gunk in oil, no gunk in coolant. No leaks, smells or smoke.

After leaving it half an hour, engine did fire up then stop after about half a second, so doesn't sound like immobiliser etc either.

Any ideas ???

All I can think of at the moment is Fuel pump / fuelling etc but wouldn't this throw a CEL ??

HELP, don't want to be without the car again and I was supposed to be going to the rolling road on Tuesday ?!?

According to ESM it is Fuse Number 2, 15A , BLK/YEL Wire Colour
In the under dash Fuse/Relay Box. Looks like thes feeds the fuel pump and the PGM-FI main Relay

Hope this makes sense ???

Can you disconnect the fuel rail and see if it pisses squirt with the ignition on?

If not, it could be a blocked line/filter.

OK need new engine now, spark plug has been mangled by the piston it would seem, and one of the cylinders is full of water.
