PS - my personal battle at the mo is the thing is so, so damn fast, and addictively so - but the S is class as said. If only they did an AWD blown version

I thought even stock the Evo should leave the S for dust?
Impreza's are pretty much easy meat as long as they're stock UK models. I've beaten plenty of them, even the top dog, the most recent STI model. I haven't raced any Jap ones (280bhp stock), but I'd imagine they'd be very hard to beat.

Evo's are a slightly different story. A standard Evo V kicks out 303bhp, and are, from first hand experience seriously quick. I almost bought one and took one in Edinburgh for a test drive. Almost bought it till I saw the service interval/cost, and the tyre life/petrol consumption figures.

The new UK Evo's though should be beatable, certainly the 240 and 260. Anything above that and I think you'd struggle.

Bada, UK STi PPP and Jap STi's are pretty similar in terms of BHP. 0-60 in under 5 secs etc...

Probably right on a UK car, but easy meat might be pushing it

I know its an old addage, but the power you can put through and out of a bend / roundabout is where its strength lies. I know ive been left for dead in this case in the ITR.

Classic STi's are about 300 bhp on the rollers with Optimax also, so not too different a story to the EVO out the box. (The Jap 280 bhp gentleman's agreement applies ) No doubt the EVO is the better made car though.

I still maintain you need a LOT more BHP to really beat someone. Also rember that although the peak BHP of an S is 240, the turbo's rally reps curve is a lot flatter - where the S is very incrimental per RPM.

I still want one though
