Exhaust...
Afternoon.
Sold the Invidia N1 today. As much as I loved the Noise on full chat, the drone grated on me a lot of the time.
So I'm in the market for a new un.
Single or Dual, I did think of going Custom 3" or 2.75" to match the test pipe.
What's your take all. I don't want an excessively loud exhaust hence getting rid of the N1 but don't want it to be quiet like a gnats fart.
So far the only one I can think of is the Invidia Q300 but I am open to suggestions. I'd Ideally like to keep it 70mm.

OEM going around my mates to be "mod'd" for the time being
I guess I am going to have to go for a razz in one with a Q300 to see what the drone is like. The N1 was horrific.
Not a massive fan of the looks to be honest Ian... and if it sounds anything like that one in the exhausts video on Youtube I am not keen on it mate.

Do you have a 3" test pipe? If you are going for a smaller diameter exhaust now (it looks like it) I´d be interested in p/x my test pipe for yours + money?
Have you heard of the Megan Racing OE-RS? It´s pretty similar to the Q300, better quality imo, and sound is great (more refine than Q300 in low revs I´d say)

I personally have gone custom 3" single. I purely went for sound as the performance gains are always going to be marginal when modifying NA so unless you are eventually going forced induction I wouldn't get hung up on numbers. Mine only made 258 HP with exhaust, decat, manifold and induction with a decent tune (TDi North) but it was never about the 'bragging' rights. I will say though if you go exhaust and decat you will want to look at getting a map as the car will start to run lean on change over. However to get the best out of any mods regardless a map is winner!
Basically I think it is down to what you think looks/sounds best after all because its your car. I know I get a bit of hate for going single exit, but do i care? No.
