Default Exhausts

I have a stock 02 S. I want to fit an aftermarket exhaust to get a more racy noise. I am not too worried about more power, but feel that the standard exhaust is too quiet. Anyone fitted non-standard exhausts ? What are they like, how much, how noisy, effect on warranty etc.

Also, I am based in the SE. I am also new to this forum. Do you lot ever meet up ?

Cheers

There's a Herts meet coming up, first Thursday of October, which should have some HKS exhaust owners in attendance. The majority of after-market exhausts in the UK are HKS, with a couple of Mugens, one Amuse Ti, Spoons (?). The is a Spugen GB going on in the main thread.

So, if you use any of the above brand names in the search box, combined with the search word ForumID25 , you'll find lots of UK relevant info and discussion.

re: Meets.

There's more meets here than the sausage counter in an Italian Supermarket.

I have the Spoon N1 and can recommend it.

Some people think it is too loud, and in the 20-30 mph band it can be a bit boomy for some, but I keep the muffler in during the week for day to day use and take in out in the evenings / weekends.

I like the sound it gives, on the balance of many dynos it adds some power and it is a hell of a lot lighter than stock. It also does not look Max Power if that matters.

It was available from Spoon Europe in Kent, overnight delivery was

Gentoo, you forgot to mention that it's a single pipe. Might be an issue for some.

And you're relegated to the back of the convoy on our next run. Otherwise, you have two choices. No VTEC'ing or you need to bring earplugs for the rest of us.

Welcome 9005rpm!

The best bang for the buck is the HKS. Great sound but not too sure about any performance gains. I now have the Amuse Titanium - very expensive but well worth it. I might be at the next Herts meet - see you there if you make it
