Not something that would ever factor in my risk assesment tbh!

The S2000 owner might also find themself in the same boat so this is worth noting.

Mustve been right on the edge when they swapped it.

Mental note to let the damn thing down before doing anything similar

Although I suppose it could always happen even when bending down to look to see if it had a bulge. Bad bad bad luck.

thats the weird thing.... 3-400kg of weight on a tyre when on the Z3, take it off, and place it on lap and it goes pop?!

bad luck indeed!

What a freak accident.

I guess if they hadn't noticed it would have blown when they were driving along which could have lead to a much bigger accident killing them both.

Such a sad thing to happen

Although a sad and sobering tale, given the Captain's experience in Afghanistan, it is also warning about handling defective tyres. They were in a Z3, but the lack of space in the S2000 boot is similar.
