Default Fallen in love

With my car again now that the sun is out. But the sunshine highlights the many stone chips etc which got me thinking. I've owned my 01 model since May 2004 so I know it's history and foibles but do I chop it in for a tidy newer sub30k ish miler or spend some cash tidying mine up? What are the S2k collectoves thoughts?

Ha good man, gotta love a blast in the sun! (You'll hate the car again come winter time ). Personally I'd be leaning towards a newer fresher car, then again I'm biased because I love the facelift models...

Could you bear to sell your car for another that might not feel like "yours" though?

Keep and tidy up. It's your car and your know it inside out. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.. Pun intended

Do it up, much more satisfaction when it's looking pristine again.

Mmm - need to set a budget. Say £300 for wheel refurb, £500 for front end respray , then £x for a suspension rebuild ( the bushes WILL seize at some point) ...

I understand the love. I kept thinking about how much I adore mine today while driving in the sunshine to the sound of VTEC through the K&N.

This is the only car I've owned with which I feel sad when I pull up at home - I don't want the journey to end!

If I were you, I'd keep it. You know where it's been and what you've done to it. Changing it will be a hassle. Get the dents sorted and the wheels refurbished and you'll probably be glad you did.

Fit facelift parts to it - Best of both scenarios?

I sold mine in march after 2 years of ownership and regretted everyday since, if I could buy it back tomorrow I would.

I've spent the last few days trying to figure out when is the best time for me to buy another.

I tend to like my cars more if I spend on them but I'd rather not spend on them.

I would rather have a newer lower miles one but I might be gutted selling one I'd had that long.

Was going to suggest the same as riknos, if your that bothered, just save some more and pick up a pair of bumpers off here, you might even get lucky and be in your cars colour maybe actually SAVING you money!

And if you know the car, just keep it, change is exciting, but once that's worn off you often miss what you had.

Spend a few quid, maybe get a new gearbox/engine mounts, might make it feel tight again when shifting etc.
