A few problems with my S - Steering
hey guys, I have notices somethign a little strange with my S ( 01 48k )
If im at a stop and i am turning right for example, if i give it a little gas, as you often do. not lighting up the back, just a confidend drive
The back end seems very erm.. unstable, almost as if the LSD is not functioning and one wheel is slipping.
Also if i am on a corner and i power on and off, i get a resonable direction change, nothign to put me into another lane, but noticable, i had a similar problem with my MR2 but that was put down to the " push " from the back
Is this the same thing ?
Any advice ?
Anything to check.
Thanks in advanced.

the s2000 is very sensitive to incorrectly configured suspension geometry.
Invest in a full laser alignment session. Then next thing is to ensure you've got a decent set of tyres on the car all round. If you have three of one type and another randomer, it'll show up in handling.
Final thing to mention is that this is a very different car to an mr2.
If in doubt, have it all checked and then get some track time in.

It's the passive rear wheel steering by the sound of the second thing you mention
You can steer with the accellerator.
You'll get used to it
Not sure if it is the same as the first thing you describe?

That was the first thing I thought when I read the post. Check tyres pressures as well just incase, and it's probably not a bad idea getting a full laser alignement done as well at some point if your still not happy.

Tyre Pressure is fine.
35 all round
Rear tyres are worn, I will hopefully replace them on the weekend.
Regarding my rear wheel steering, this is in traffic flow on easy corners still noticable.
Lets see after the new tyres / align
thanks a lot for the input guys.

as they say....passive rear wheel steering. you can change your turning circle radius using nothing but the throttle. i didnt realise what it was either 'til i did a carlimits course with andy walsh.
as for the back end stepping out, i think thats normal. you'll get used to it & even enjoy it after a while.
