Ouch! Hard luck. Don't beat yourself up over it.

For insurance write offwithin 1st 12 months, the decision point is repair cost of normally 60% using manufacturer parts prices & labour rates. As said before check your policy.

I'm sure it'll be sorted before the summer.

Hi guys,

Cheers for the support!

Had the car picked up yesterday and taken to my Honda dealer. Within 1h they had it up on the ramp and gave me the damage report and estimate of repair.

Its going to cost 7k to repair it all......they are replacing everything within earshot of the front end (things like the a/c pump is

How does a leaking radiator effect idling/noise?

As said get it to a Honda dealer and dont run it again before.

Russ.
It depends on where the newly re sighted radiator is sitting, I guess

Makes you think just how dodgy some Cat D cars must be when a lot of the cost of the repair includes non-cosmetic stuff.

The answer on a high value motor is only buy a CAT C/D with a condition verified marker, i.e. it's had an engineer report and classed as a satisfactory repair. This will be reflected on the HPI report for the future purchaser. Anything less and you are completely at the mercy of the repairer and his ability/honesty.
