Default First day experience with the S2000

Today (SAT) I drove from Herts to Flint in north wales to pick up my 06 Berlina GT from an independent dealer (Hillcrest cars) and it couldnt have been a better experience and i would highly recomend them as a company. Everything they had told me over the phone was spot on and the car was mint.
The car had only done 3k but was coming up for its first service, not only did they get that done, but even replaced the moulded boot carpet where some tight git had removed the auto cd changer unit ! (i pod will be better anyway) and left a hole in the original.
Quick test drive (in which i nearly spun it accelerating hard out of a side road) inspected the car, Money changed hands and off down the road !!
Bit nervous at first, but i was really pleased that everything about the car felt very tight, like you could really feel what was going on. I was starting to see what everyone was on about. But i hadnt counted on what happened next !!
Before the car purchase i had been on the forum and chatted to a few people who have been very helpful (thanks guys) and MikeyK mentioned that there was a track day happening just down the road from where i had bought the car at Oulton Park, why not pop in and say hi, so i did.
Afer meeting Mikey K,and the other members (sorry guys cant remember all your names !) inspecting my new purchase and getting the thumbs up.
Surrounded by various s2ks and car chatting it was suggested that i couldnt come all this way and not have a go on the track !! great i thought now i could see what these road cars go like, how they handle where the limits are, and i was introduced to Bernie.
We entered the track at what i thought was a pretty high speed and the first few corners were taken at what i thought would be the cars limit !!! How wrong i was !!! any one who has only taken these cars out on a quick test drive from a dealers (as i had) really must, i mean MUST !! see how thes cars go on a circuit.
Bernie then put the car into constant V-TEC mode, and it was like the car had changed into another character, and the cornering speed !!! OH MY GOD !!!
Bernie proceeded to give me a master class at HIGH SPEED S2K driving. (not before showing me where he had tried to do some plowing earlier that day) that really filled me with confidence !
Attacking corners a very high speed, changing down and accelerating hard, right through the corner just has to be experienced. I thought this must be a modified car, but no it was a standard 05 model.
I cant thank the guys there enough, to pick up my new car and be treated to a track day all on the same day was just brilliant and made my first days ownership a really memorable experience.
Bernies parting comment as i drove out the car park was " drive it like you stole it "
Bernie my old mate, if i ever do a bank job you would be my first choice as get away driver. It might take me a bit more owneship experience to drive the car like i experienced today, but i came away with a new found respect for my new purchase and its capabilities.
What an awesome car, now i know i made the right choice

Good to hear one new owner loving it to offset the new owner who hates it.

I really should have gone to Oulton.

How do you find the ride? Is it supple or crashy would you say? (Just following up on my concern from the other post)

I walked past your car and was Shocked how clean it was!

It looked like it had just come out of the showroom the post above explains it

Mine was the Dirty black S2000 there

I went out with Mark and PeteFindley, ive been around Oulton in a DC5 before which was maybe as fast but its just the fun you have in the S2000 that i was amazed with.
