They all do that sir - once in a while. I think mine has done it twice in three years, both times after a fast run, on a hot day.

I think some people have found a solution by installing cold air intakes and I think the other way of dealing with it is to give the car a few revs in neutral before moving off.

Brilliant title, Shane!

Yes, one learns to sense the hesitation and know when it's about to go off.

The worst thing one can do is increase the throttle opening - it will merely exacerbate the problem.

A quick stab on the clutch and a big dose of throttle should clear it and gives the others a taste of VTEC!

(Or get a fake Spoon air intake - it helps considerably, although not completely)

Yes, had this a couple of times in some recent hot weather. As been said, quick dip on the clutch & a blip of revs helps. Has become automatic for me to do this now when idling. Even do when i'm driving someone elses car. My mate looked at me like i was total spaz when i did it in his Rover hire car.

That's what I did, clutch straight in and VTEC'd it a couple of times. Girl behind must've damped her seats

I still get this quite regularly and that is with a spoon intake. I think the only way to solve the problem would be to insulate the airbox with reflective foil but to be honest, I can't be bothered!
