Default First mod...

Aha... took that bl**dy fuse out that works the headlamp washers tonight... been meaning to do that for ages now.

Maybe i will go more than a week without having to refill the reservoir again.

I have had my car over 2 years now and never once filled the water reservoir up . I never use the had light washers and Honda always fill it up. In fact I bought a 5 litre can of windscreen fluid lastyear and have still not used any of it.

Wish i could say the same, but then again i've done 9k miles in the ten weeks i've had the car so far so i guess it relates to distance/usage.

I found that the headlamp washer was the main drain on the water level, especially thru Summer when i'm using the windscreen washers to get the flies off alot of the time.

It really used to pee me off too when i'd polished the car only to blip the windscreen washers and spray the whole of the car with the jet from the headlamp washers.

Might pop the fuse back in in the depths of Winter but usually need to wipe windows off around mid week so just as easy to go over the headlamps while i'm at it.

Ideally i will see if Honda will deal with it on next service as i'm told from an earlier post there is a warranty job on it if you complain and it's put on it's own wiring loop to the switch already installed for that purpose... can't understand why they did'nt do that from the beginning though.

Jamie - on an 04 the headlight washers squirt at the same time as the windscreen ones, unless you have the mod done

Thanks all the same... i did'nt even realise there was a difference between 04 and 05.

If anyone can supply me with some facts if a reference does exist for the fix i would be grateful.

There isn't!

AE was referring to the 99-03, which had washers which didn't squirt whenever you wash the windscreen.

I thought there was

In the 05, the lights are only washed when the dipped beam is on and you use the screen washers. Was this not something Honda changed after all the complaints about the 04 set up?

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but for the 99 - 03 you need to press a button to wash your headlamps. Therefore they are not linked to whether your lights are on or you are washing your windscreen.

I think this is what LL was refering to.
