Default Fitting K&N kit

It finally arrived from eBay.

I'm guessing about an hour to fit my 2001my?

Any trip hazards or anything I need to be aware if? Or is it just a case of slow and steady?

I would give it two hours if you do it correctly. Putting in the rubber trim, etc.

Easy.

Instructions suck, read them several times.

Thanks..

It comes ready assembled as the seller had it on his car - supposedly for only 200-300 miles but it looks older. No matter - it was a good price and is in it's original box with instructions etc .

I've read something about deleting / not refitting one of the breather hoses?
Or was this only on later models?

Anyway, I'll be busy on Sunday

What are these like in terms of having to get the car mapped? I saw a few at ace cafe and really liked them, plus it is a lot cheaper than the mugen kit and doesn't need the bonnet cutting/replacing. Looking at getting j's manifold when funds allow and then getting it mapped but before I do, will it be ok to run without mapping?
