Default Fitting a new roof

I want to fit a new roof with glass screen to my '99 S. The plastic screen is pretty scuffed & no amount of cleaning wih the BMW stuff will shift it, apart from that the roof is going very thin & cracking in places (it is nearly 9 years old after all).

I've read the very good step-by-step instructions in the FAQs but just wondered if anyone here has fitted one & has any other advice to add, or is it as easy as it looks? Presumably I will just need to mount a switch (via the fusebox) for the HRW.

I've got a price from Carhood Warehouse for

See my sig, there are some photos of when I installed mine. That'll give you some idea of what's involved.

I CBA with the HRW, so others will advise.

Thanks mytse. So if I use my original frame, it looks like I need to attach some straps in place of the springs on the later models?

I just rang Honda in Weston to get a price.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but I've got a question on the same topic.

I'm looking to buy a black S with a red interior, and wondered whether you could get a hood in red, a kind of dark burgundy, not too bright, but also fairly close to the interior colour.

It doesn't look like you can, but I used to have a Mk1 Golf GTI cabbie, and I'm sure you could get hoods in all types of colours, and they were only about

[QUOTE=mytse,Aug 26 2008, 05:27 PM]If you're not too fussed on Mohair, then why not make it easier and get a hood+glass screen+frame from a breaker. Should be around
