Default Fitting plates (3/4 front / normal rear)

I have recieved the documents back from the DVLA to say my new plates are now legal so, I need to change my existing plates over.

From my understanding, I believe i need to remove the bumper in order to take the original plate and holder off so that I can fit my new 3/4 plate. Is this correct? Is there any way of doing this without removing the bumper?

I have got instructions on how to remove the front bumper which looks like a lot of screws (about 16 or so). How hard is it? Once the bumper is removed, what exactly do I need to do to remove the plate holder from the inside?

I understand I can get some gromits to fill the holes from Halfrauds. Correct?

I intend to attach both front and rear plates by velcro. Can I also get this from Halfrauds?

I have no idea how to remove the rear plate. Can someone tell me how?

Anyway, sorry for all the questions. Im not the best DIY'er. Any help greatly appreciated.

Sounds a lot easier but did you fit a 3/4 plate afterwards? Arent u left with unsightly holes or bits of plastic?

I've got a ridiculous amount of holes in mine. I'm beginning to fear that a previous owner was a bit of a plonker. There were 8 holes of various sizes across my bumper hidden by the old plate.

Filled my holes (fnarr) with doorplugs from bumperplugs.com (colour matched s2ki package). Held in place with sliver of aquarium silicone. Looks professional. Can add photos if you want?

Yes I fitted a small plate, the square bolts left are black like my car so you can't really see them!

I just took the front plate off via the two screws holding it on.

Then pulled the black plate surround and then it came off. The surround is only a bit of plastic and bends, just pull it, then look how it's held on all you will see, Easy!

3/4 front, normal rear
