Default Fluid change

Am going to change all oils in the car at its first service.

Car is 1 year old on the 17th of July, the same day as I'm doing the Academy day.

Question is should I have her serviced before or after the event?

After . but make sure you're topped up before you set off & take some oil with you.

Toughie that. Do you let the car handle the higher than normal stresses of a track day on mineral oil that has 9,000 mile of use - and runnin in miles at that, or do you drive the next 9,000 on synthetic that has had a tough first day?

On balance, given this is the time of the switch to synthetic, and the mineral oil has had the added stress of running the engine in then I would change before the track day if it were my car.

I would not be so concerned about the gearbox or diff - I would probably leave those to afterwards.

From experience I would also go *fully* synthetic.

I would have it done before without a doubt. No point in ragging an engine on old oil

do it before - as above, but also you might find it a bit more 'receptive' on the track day..
