I don't see why guest should have a say as they are not willing to contribute other than posting.
Whilst I understand where you're coming from Mikey, I don't entirely agree.

As you can see I am not a member anymore, mainly out of principle following the whole Beardie STFU incident.

However to suggest that guests do not contribute isn't exactly fair. I've put in bucket loads of my own time organising the French trip this year. Ironically it is the members, who make up 80% of the trip, who will mainly benefit from a guest's organisation and time.

Plus there are a lot of guests who regularly contribute to the list, if not the club. If guests were not allowed, the number of people who actually post would reduce dramitically. A board like this needs a certain amount of traffic to attract new people and that in turn builds a momentum. Without that momentum, the whole thing falls apart.

If you all keep whining I'm going to redirect all of the idiots from the US Street Encounters forum over here.

Regarding spelling and grammar of some of our members.

I had an email from someone who is at a fairly reasonable school sitting a levels this year and his spelling is nothing short of disgraceful. I mentioned this to my wife who works with quite a few young people and apparently they are pretty much all like that now.

Whether it's something to do with text speak getting crossed over with real English, or failure of our schooling system I don't know, but expect it to get worse over the coming years.

Funny you should say that as it's a perception that I've had for the last year or so.

A number of people that we/I have recruited in 2005 seem to have an inability to spell. They are all graduates with some work experience. Now before I get on my soapbox - I can't either, but I'm aware of it so when conversing professionally I use a spell checker. Not exactly hard is it?!

Anyway, something went out to a client of mine this morning with a speeling mistace on the first page. I've raised the clause in her contract that states that every future mistake results in 10% loss of monthly salary.

Harsh?
