Default Found a rust spot :(

While putting the brakes back on the car today, I found a small bit of rust bubbling up around the rear N/S wheel arch, near to where the bumper meets the panel

Not happy, I hate rust!!

How long is the anti corrosion warranty on the car?, BMW and mercs are over 10 years, surely Honda must be around that.

I had to take the rubber trim off the rear arches last year and rub down / hamerite then, plaster them in grease and put the trim back on. I only noticed the rust when the bubbles started appearing at the edge of the arches. Mine is 02, enquired at Honda and told no chance of a warrenty claim.

Only way to get rid it to cut out and put a panel in, if you just smooth over it then cover it will come back sooner or later

I think I caught mine early enough before the rust took hold. I managed to rub the hole lip down to bare metal before painting and six months on it's not returned. I'm going to re-do it this winter and replace the rubber trim that clamps over it. Plenty of gease to keep the air out. At least nobody can see it hidden under the trim.

Two or three cars I looked at before buying mine had the odd small paint bubble appearing from behind the wheel arch trim.

That's through choice, not financial enforcement.
