Default Front speaker cable.... which one is positive???

I finally picked up my S from Southampton docks today.

Whilst waiting for the SVA stuff to be sorted I am fitting new ICE system, I have removed the door panels and crappy paper coned speakers and am left with a 2 pin block with a light green and dark green cable.

Which one is positive? Don't want to wire new speakers up the wrong way and put the door back together to find it sounds crap!

Also have removed rear panels to fit speakers, I am kinda thinking along the lines of 10cm / 12cm units, what is the largest size anyone has fitted as rears (using original panels).

any advise appreciated

cheers

Alistair

Alistair, you can get the speaker adapter leads from this site (Speaker Adaptor Kits section):

Yep cars in pretty good nick, 2 alloys are scuffed and there is a tiny dent in the drivers door (it is nearly 4 years old), but apart from that really pleased. Only had it a few hours and have already removed rear bumper to fit fog light and striped the interior ready for new speakers.

Steven

those nexxia blocks look to be the way to go, cheers for your help

ahurst,

It won't really matter which is positive and which is negative as long as you connect like wires (ie say your wiring loom has a Red wire and Black wire going to each speaker in the door) as long as you connect BOTH the reds to positives on either speaker the signal will be in Phase.

Enjoy

I phoned Trident Honda in Weybridge (very helpful parts dept), left door green/black '+' , right door green/yellow '+'. Just as well because nexxia no longer supply the cable adaptors.

This info was on the workshop CD, so I guess it has some use!

I watched each cone with Led Zep at 11.

It was quite easy to check they were on beat and in phase.
