Default Front Speakers

Right then....I've got a Pioneer 4 x 50w headunit and 6 disc changer.
Pioneer rear speakers and original door speakers.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the best door speaker upgrade should be ?

you just going to be running them off the head unit? or are you thinking of adding an amp?

How much are you looking to spend and what kind of music do you listen to?

If you had a 2002 model i guess it would be ideal to go for some components in the front and they range from

Thanks guys...car is 01 and I'm undecided about an amp. Its clarity of sound I'm after.

What type of music..blimey..

unusual range from Frank Sinatra, through Aerosmith..to the latest Buddah Lounge Chill out stuff.

I do have some 'thumpy repetitive stuff' but whether its garage or house is beyond me......Oh God I'm getting old !

Well the 6.5" Kenwoods I got from Lucid do a good job now they are running off my Alpine unit. They are very clear and they also provide quite thumpy bass.

There are loads of 6.5" speakers out there, just depends on what you are willing to spend.

Hate to say this.... but if you are just looking for something cheapish (still can't believe I am going to say it) they have a clearence bin in Halfords normally, you can pick up from good cheap 6.5" speakers in there some times.

If you are looking to spend a bit more I could get you some info on a good set of 6.5"s just need to know what you would spend.

An amp and a sub would make a massive difference. But then thats a whole different ball game. If your amp is running the speakers, you need an amp for the sub as well (unless you get a 5-channel - Tif style). You gotta locate the amp and sub - which may take up significant room in the boot and/or spare wheel area. Buying a amp again depending massively on your budget.
