Default Front wheelarch liner

I had the front offside wheelarch liner replaced under warranty about a year ago

It had cracked at the second screw hole up from the bottom of the liner, behind the front wheel

Gave the car a wash today and discovered that the liner has cracked around both screws at the bottom of the liner leaving a nice sharp edge of plastic prodruding slightly from the wheelarch

It has only cracked on the outside edge of the screw

I will try my luck with another warranty claim but was wondering if anyone else has had any issues

They do rip easily when man handled
If it is ripping whilst on the car it's not been properly aligned before fixing down.
They can be tricky little blighters.

Hey buddy they are a bit flimsy.
Must be the poor plastic.
I dont suppose I could have your cracked wheel arch when you get a replacement?

The one on my MY02 partially fell off in the middle of nowhere once and got jammed under the wheel - ended up having to remove the rest of it and drive 100 miles home with it sitting in the passenger seat.

I was not happy

One of my many warranty claims .................

If it is replaced under warranty you'll be more than welcome to it

I'm about 150 miles from Northampton though

Yes I would get it replaced. They are known to go if not installed correctly or they over tighten them apparently. I had two on one side because of this. Both sorted under warranty

The offside front line one cracked shortly after I had the car in Spring 2009. Dealer was initially reluctant to replace under warranty. After a friendly discussion they went out of their way to be helpful and offered to take one off another new car so that I didn't bring it back on another day. That cracked shortly afterwards as well. Then the replacement was an appalling fit.

At the time the dealer said they hadn't come across problem before and even went back to Honda UK for advice when the second one cracked.

Third attempt at solving problem worked and the fourth liner has been on about 18 months, done 10,000 miles, and looks fine.

The liner was replaced today under warranty

A quick inspection of the new one revealed a missing clip inside the wheelarch

The car was duly returned to the workshop

I live in hope that one day a Honda dealer will actually do a job correctly first time

Still, problem solved

Tommy S2000; I've asked for the old liner but was told it will be sent back to Slough, although I suspect it will end up in the dealers skip

The dealer promised to call me tomorrow regarding this (I won't hold my breath)

You are welcome to it if it is returned to me but the cost of petrol will probably outway the cost of a new liner
