Default FS: Spoon Cross Brace (under engine)

This part was bought and fitted around 3 months ago. It has the bolts and instructions and around 1000 miles of wear. It costs around

Wow,

I cant keep up with your for sales at the moment, are you selling the car?

I presume this is the Xbrace rather than the Strut Brace? Correct? How easy is this to fit?

I can see some spending coming on

Think seriously before you fit an x-brace for general road use. The engine in the S2000 is designed to shear it's mounts and drop down and under the car in the event of a severe head-on shunt. The x-brace surely must compromise that safety design. Much as I love the F20C engine I don't ever want one in my lap!!

Answers:
The cross brace sits under the subframe mounts which the engine mounts bear onto. The bolts and bolt lengths are actually like for like replacement as this sits over the frame adding rigidity. In the event of a head on smash the subframe would shear with the cross brace and slide under the compartment

The Mugen front end includes new cross bars and complete undertray all the way back to the main compartment. This is higher grade steel than the standard parts (thicker cross section tubing) which makes up for rigidity. I will post a pic when complete. The degree of integration of the Mugen front end with the car suggests that there was a heavy tie up as some parts seem to fit better than the original S2000 parts removed!

Hope this helps!
