There are a couple of different types basically it pays the difference between the insurance value of your car in a write off and the amount still owing on the finance.

The better version pays the difference between the assesed insurance value of the car and the original cost, that's the one I have.

Go crash the car, you'll get your money back then.

Cheers Jim.

I've always wondered if there is such a thing as (as I would call it) "F*ck Up Insurance". It would cover you for big jobs of work on a car (like 1k suspension bills etc), like the insurance you get for the plumbing in your house, or operations for your dog.

Is there such a thing as "F*ck Up Insurance"?

I don't think puppies come with a warranty though, oss!

BB, no, I doubt very much you can get the kind of cover you're talking about. Just too actuarially difficult to assess the risk and set a premium, I'd have thought. You have to cover each of the risks you mentioned separately.

I just thought I would concentrate on the car side of it

After all the actuaries do provide risk assesments for puppies and plumbing already.
