Default Gearbox Tip

Dont know whether this will work for every one, but here goes.
I find that when the gearbox is cold and doesnt want to go in reverse, first etc - the solution is a straight forward shift into third, then it will go wherever you like.

You might find this helps, works every time for me

Give it a whirl.

I would say that you did the right thing, getting the TSB's done anyway.
When i first got my car, the buzzing was there in the background, soon got the fix. I had the ringing shifter, but a voodoo knob has cured that (and made the shift even better)
Mines on a 99V as well, good to know that everyones not jumpin on the 02' models, I wouldnt swap mine, love the damn thing.
Need some zaino though............
