The dealer is taking the piss and trying his luck

It's a crap offer - purely because they are obvioulsy confident of selling it (i.e. they already have a buyer ) at a price to make the deal worth their while.

I reckon that's

i don't think that's a terrible price for a 50k miler on a 2000... i'd expect you'd get 13k private sale tops.. and there's hassle involved.

its not that bad a price for your car - depends how quickly you want to sell...

What really took the piss was when I was selling my last S2000 - the dealer offered me 14k for my 2002 Berlina GT (car was immaculate with 30k miles on the clock). Needless to say, I told him to off!!

I sold the car a week later for 17k privately.

Thanks for the inputs guys. Seem to be getting a mixture of reasonable and unreasonable. I guess if I can be bothered to sell myself I may see
