Sounds reasonable.

Can you live with the mikey taking on here though?

yep, sounds fair, I would be trying for a little bit more for mine, but then it is the fastest colour

Mostly just the usual used car things apply.

I would check the condition and of the HT if it's not on the car though, don't take the dealer's word for it.

Unless you've driven other S's or performance cars you might not be able to tell how well it's driving (I know I wouldn't in that situation), but someone else on here may give you some pointers.

Check it has the correct tyres on - see tech FAQ (they are VERY specific - use as bargaining tool with seller if not exactly what they should be).

Tyre wear also should be factored in to the deal - tyres can be anything from

I agree, sounds reasonable. I would also expect a bit more for mine but if it were for sale at a dealers I would expect it to be up for more still - check out the used vehicle search at www.honda.co.uk.

If it were me I would be asking if the car had been used for track days, had any crash damage etc and getting any third party confirmation that I could get my hands on given the amount of cash you're going to be laying out.

I'm no expert in buying used cars but the only major problem I've had with mine has been the gear box - look out for a crunch / grind. If you do a search you'll find a few threads on this topic.

Don't let this put you off the S in general though - my gearbox was eventually replaced under warranty and having loosened up a bit, the new one is fantastic which is how I believe the majority are.

With regard to the colour, I've had nothing but complimentary remarks from friends, family and strangers for that matter - its only a few people on here who can't come to terms with the fact that they've made the wrong choice who keep stirring it up

Thanks for the advice..... I'm sure I can take the ribbing on here!!! Hopefully I'll soon be joining the ranks of "S2000 ownership".. I'm sure it will be more enjoyable than my last sports car (TVR Chimaera - cross fingers then turn ignition key!).

Welcome

Good luck with the purchase. Don't take ANY chance would be my advice and if you have any suspicions at all - walk away unless you get satisfactory answers.

Check the roof operation - big, big bucks to fix.

Are you buying from a main agent? If so, who?
