Default Got soaked :(

Seal on driver's side (where the fold in the roof is) doesn't appear to be sitting right, got drenched when i went out after it had sat in rain. Passenger side seams fine. Is this gonna be covered by warranty? If it's not covered i wont be keeping it. I've always been weary about cabriolets for this reason, and i heard the S didnt have a leak problem.

I know this is quite minor thing but getting covered in cold water (a lot of, the whole inside run of the seal must have been full) is not very nice!!!!

I also now have a very annoying rattle coming from behind me, which wasn't there before the service. Haven't pulled all the boot/spare out etc yet cos its raining, but any quick ideas? Rob GSi said to check the spare's bolt, which i will once rain has stopped, but might it be something else?

When did you last lubricate it?

They all do it (cabriolets) if you don't do it.

The cost of new seals will practically write off your car, so check the FAQs and get some rubber and silicone lubricant spray. (Holts is cheaper than Honda's Shitzu grease).

reminds me.. must do mine, got a couple of drips from same point mentioned the other day. Notice it was after I autoglym bumper cared the roof, so maybe more water is being blasted off the roof now as it is so waterproof now - totally - puddles will sit on it when parked.. compared to before when the roof soaked it up.

What do you lube with and how do you apply it ? Do you just rub it in ? How often should it be done ?

Looks like I'll need some too. Thanks

Didn't know about the lube, dealer certainly didn't tell me... thanks. The thing is, the seal defo doesn't sit as well as on the passenger side. Its a lot looser/flappy on the driver's side. This is why I asked about warranty. If the lube is all I need then great

Snarrk snarrk fnarr fnarrr!

You have to keep it moist so it's nice and supple, firm, not wrinkly.

The pieces should slide easily oast each other, so they don't drag.

Fwoof fwoof!

Easiest way is to stop roof 3/4 folded. Spray onto clean cloth, rub carefully & plentifully over all surfaces of seals.

Best to leave roof folded, so seals can re-expand to original shape.

If excess is fully absorbed, re-apply lightly. Your seals may be very dry.

Repeat every 3-6 months.

Fwoof fwoof!
Yeah - I'm still getting that satisfying Fwoof, so no harm done yet.

Thanks for the application technique - but what product do I need and where do I buy it ?

Do Honda do this as part of their service routine ?

It says to lubricate it in the Owners' Manual

Get some seaman rubbed all over it

or some Shin Etsu
