Default Grey side repeater indicators

I finally received the grey repeaters fron Demon Tweeks of Friday.

Fitted them Saturday, re-installed the orange OEMs straight away

The grey worked on black, nicely matching the rear indicators and looked a lot better then the orange OEM ones - from a distance.

Up close, the quality really is crap - and this is with TUV approval? No wonder the Germans cannot match the Honda quality.

The moulding quality is poor and they have a nasty wobbly metal clip, not like the beautifully engineered plastic ones on the Stanley originals. They don't fit flush to the wings and wobble about. Even with insulating tape on the clips.

I may be obsessively anal, but I could not defile my car with them. They're going back next week.

I don't think I'd want those on my car either by the sound of it Nick, although I do still fancy some grey or clear ones. Andy P., what are the quality of yours like, you got them from somewhere else in the end didn't you?

You must have a dodgy batch...
My clear ones from In-pro are almost identical to stock. It has the same sloped angle at one end and everything.
Mine also fit tighter thans a nuns crutch (ie: no wobble at all....)

Strange

Get the ABC design ones from Need For Speed, they are excellent and come within 24 hours.

Mine really are excellent, I am chuffed to bits with them.
I think Nigel (Biker1) has the same manufactured ones as I do.
I can highly recommend them to anybody.

Interesting - Na$ty, yours have the same untrimmed bit of sprue on the top side of the lens and the plastic back part seems to be less black than the originals - just like mine.

I could sort that out, but the wobble is more difficult. Yours look to fit flush to the wing panel. Mine seem to have a flat base plate, the originals look slightly curved to follow the panel stetch caused by the wheel flare.

Can you remember if they had a plastic clip like the originals or a wobbly metal one like mine?

Andy - thanx for the recommendation. I might give them a try instead.

As for colour, the grey would blend into the silverstone paint, perhaps perfectly on an overcast day. The silver (clear) might be a safer bet and avoid clashing. It's a personal thing.

I can't remember if the clip is metal or not... i'll check tomorrow.

I remember it being a 20 second job to fit.
I kept the original inside connector that twists into the lens, but replaced the bulb... then the lens just snapped into the hole. There were no wobbles... just totally flush. I can remember thinking how easy it would be to knick someone elses.... or use them to drain battery power from the car...

Can you explain what you mean by 'untrimmed bit of sprue' ?

I think the ABC ones have a flat lens, not the same shape as OEM ones. But they should still fit fine.
(AnDy- could you post a pic of yours ?? )
