Grumble
hole in roof in olde over the drivers side shoulder. 3rd party warranty sold with car won't cover which as suspected is not worth the paper its printed on.
dealer applying for "special circumstances" lets see shal we, can only hope :/

Surely your car is only just out of warranty
Feel for you.
Not wishing to rub salt in but I have to say that having a car that's in warranty is proving to be a very different (and rather easy) experience - thanks to Brayley Honda in Hemel.
The only downside is having to drive a bloody Jazz for 3 days!

Just out I imagine yes, going to flick through this 3rd party one now. It's obviously a mechanical defect with the harsh metal arm versus softer material but hey, I doubt I will have much luck arguing that if Honda won't good will
Edit - 3rd party Warranty is useless and even excludes some pretty major bits.

Exactly the same with mine last year. I had a honda happiness guarrenty, and like you, feel it wasn't worth jack. The fault is clearly down to sharp edges on the frame. The dealer said 'I've never seen this fault on any s2k'. Having seen it mentioned quite a few times on this forum, I took him up on this challenge and said 'alright, how about on that one', pointing at the next s2k in the fourcourt. So we had a look at it, and lo and behold, the fabric was fraying in exactly the same place. The people at the dealership where very nice and polite, but honda UK refused any good will, and said the warrenty didn't cover it. As far as I can tell it's not specifically mentioned in the small print, unless it's counted as bodywork (but I wouldn't call the frame exterior body work, and that's where the fault lies). I complained to the SMMT and no joy there.
Honda are crap, I gave up with them in the end, no good will. Took it to carhood, got a nice mohair hood, and while the old one was off, I machined/painted the sharp edges of the frame myself so they're all nice and rounded off now. Cracking car, but this is the last honda I'll ever buy as a result.

I disagree with the comments honda uk are 'crap' tbh. Maybe i was lucky to be dealt with well on first occasion.
I had the same problem as you Sin. My car was bought from a private dealer and car out of warranty. However i have just had my new roof fitted. All parts were supplied by Honda UK FOC. i only had to cover the labour, and its a bloody good job thats been done too. Just explain very clearly to them ' in technical' terms
whey the lack off quality control on said part of the frame has caused premature faliure of the hood fabric.
Good luck

I've already used the words indicating it to be a mechanical flaw and not "Wear and tear"
The guy at dealer said "Might be better if it was on an elbow or something"
To which I explained it was, on the inside.
No point pursuing till I hear back from Honda though.

I've just noticed I have a hole on the driver's side and wear on the passenger's side.
Since it's going to end up needing a new roof anyway, I was thinking of trying a repair to see how it goes.
Thoughts on using a puncture repair kit to put a little patch on the inside?
Would the glue ruin the roof fabric?
