Default Gt40 Tussle

Followed a light blue GT40 off the m6 onto a link road, where he floored it.
as i was expecting him to do so, so did I . kept up with him no probs although I redlined in every gear. did the same again on a dual carriageway
where he pulled slightly in 2nd gear but caught him 3rd, before we hit a roundabout & a 30mph zone. he turned off although I was hoping to chat
to him at the lights, to have a look at his car etc.

great sound of a V8, with the S screaming along.

I presume it was a kit car with a 5 litre V8, would have been nice to find out though.

It's good to hear that you have been enjoying yourself. Excuse the ignorant - what is a GT40?

Ade, go take a look here

and here for some great pics

The Ford GT40 was a fabulous car from the mid-60's. A Le Mans Ferrari basher. A real classic.

Some of those kits can really fly. I was at a kit car show recently and one of the cars based on a Ferrari (can't remember the model) had a Jag V12 boasting 400+bhp

Yeah, the GT40 is a beaut. They're working on a new one now. But I doubt it'll make it over here. The trend with the automakers are to bring back the good ol days with introducing re engineered cars like the new mini, beetle etc.

The parts for the new GT40 will be made by Mayflower Vehicle Systems based in Coventry. The chassis will be designed by Arups.

I've seen a few pics of the new car and its defintely something worth waiting for.

Its the one Jeremy Clarkson waited 20 years to drive, then couldn't because the door wouldn't shut because of his head!
