[QUOTE=AlyWW,Jul 15 2009, 09:53 PM] Wasn't there a similar post just a week or so ago where we discovered that half of S2000 owners are fairly decent people whereas the other half uphold the image of the self centered selfish sports car driver?

I think most people are right about dont park there etc.

Leave her a note saying 'Parking is for gym customers only, future parking will be clamped'

I've only been in that half since I had kids (or rather the wife had kids) and realised how hard it is to keep two kids (different matter if you only have one) away from mad teenage drivers and blind old drivers when walking to the far end of a car park. Also I don't want them to damage other peoples cars. Just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.
Parking across two spaces at the far end of a quiet car park is a different thing, although I've stopped doing it mainly because I've had hassle for it in the past and feel it makes my car more of a target for vandalism. If the car park is not full I can't see any problem with the two space thing, if you're likely to take up the last two spaces then I can see the problem.
I can see it being annoying if people using the parent and child spaces are not gym members but is there any point going to the gym if you don't have the energy to walk across the car park to get there?

I've never parked in a disabled bay, and never will unless I have someone on board who has a disabled badge.

At the end of the day most car parking spaces are far too small. Cars have gotten bigger, but the spaces haven't.

I should add to my previous statement.

The disabled deserve special treatment and people who use disabled spaces without entitlement are selfish scum of the earth.

I do accept parents will find it harder to park in a normal narrow space and manage their children and if a supermarket/gym/whatever wish to make their supermarket more attractive to parents by giving them bigger spaces that is entirely their prerogative. However, this is purely a marketing thing by the supermarket and not something that parents should expect to be entitled to.

However, i don't park in mother and child slots. I used to when i was younger, but then i grew up a bit and realised i was being the selfish sports car owner so I stopped doing it.

Not this again!

Too right you got a note on your car, you didnt have a child with you so clearly you were not correct in using that space.

Whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant, the spaces are marked for use as the landowner sees fit.

Which ever car I am in I park in a disabled bay first, if these are full I then use a mother and child, then across two bays
