Default Halogen equivalent to D2S and D2R bulbs?

H1, H4, H7 etc all have a Halogen and HID Xenon equivalent bulb. i.e. same fitment.

Does anyone know if there is a Halogen equivalent for D2S and/ or D2R?

I need it for SVA purpose and from the looks of the headlamp the regular H1 (etc) won't fit...

No there isn't.

The holder is designed for 20Kv, for a start.

The bulb's arc position is even wronger in an HID than an HID in a Halogen housing.

Basically, either way is wrong & should fail.

Why do you need Halogens for the SVA?

You need to search for Andy Dochertys posts from a year or so back.
He had major headache with this IIRC and not just with the headlights.

Right,

Probably your option might be to pull some headlights out of a scrapper & drop in some halogen 50mm projectors (or their blub holders) from another donor vehicle.

It's a bit involved, with heat guns to melt the glue & making up some adjustable brackets.

It's a little project I have going in the other direction, so if you do get a spare set of working S2000 Xenon projectors & inverters going spare, I'd be interested!

Only problem is, my spare projectors are LHD & 60mm!

Still, it may be less involved than replacing teh electrics, washer bottle, bumper pipes & putting the adjuster unit on the rear axle.

But I'm sure others have had the car SVA'd without washers.

Did you have this SVA'd yourself or did you buy it ready?

Nick,

Why would I need projectors, the headlight already has them...!? Getting new headlamps also seems an unnecessary hassle.

This is what I have come up with...
