Default Handling...Please Help

I picked up my 03 S2000 on Saturday. The car is great and I love it to pieces.

Thing is before this one I owned an M3 and then a MY00 S2000.

The 03 seemed a little skittish on the motorway and also A Roads in the rain. I know it is rear wheel drive and everything but seemed a little unstable.

Could it be the tyre pressures, going to check at lunch.....if not is it worth having the alignment checked at the local dealership.

It is on stock S02 tyres and these have plenty of tread

Check the code on the S02's, make sure its teh EJ... code

Tyre pressures should be checked first and then take it straight back to the dealer if they are ok, to get the alignment checked.

There's a section in the Tech FAQ dealing with this which you'll find helpful - you can find a link to it from the "Important Information" thread at the top of the board.

In short, you need to make sure that the tyres fitted are the correct S2000-specific ES02JZ, which are marked on the sidewall as being Potenza S02, and that they are the W-rated tyres, not the ZR-rated tyres.

Nothing to add to the above, but i notice your profile says your enthusiast, not Owner - go into Edit Profile at the start button up top, and enter your VIN (which isnt stored) and you'll get owner status

Hi Matt

I had this with my MY00 and it was sorted by getting the revised alignment put on the car (This must be done on new and not part worn tyres).

My car seemed to skip on cats eyes to the left.

Brian (Marshall) will probably tell you to get the dampers checked as well, as these have been known to go on very low mileage cars (16k I think he told me)
