I think it honestly feels more sporting with the roof on. It's weird really I had hoped that as a convertible it would be closest to an open top race car but that's never the feeling I've gotten. Roof down for me is all about cruising, enjoying the weather and scenery.

When the roof goes back on it just feels more focused. Like being cocooned in the tight cockpit of a race car. And maybe it's a placebo but I'm sure there is less wobble with the hard top in place.

As for being an afterthought, well it's the best hardtop afterthought I know of. The Z4 one is awful and looks aftermarket, on a Boxster it's too in the middle of the car and the MX5 has those weird rear latch bits giving the game away it's a bolt on.

Most people don't even realise the roof comes off my S2k.

Ditto, when it does come round to putting the hardtop on, where are the adjusters as mine rattled a fair bit?

Done and dusted then. When the Hardtop goes on during October it will never come off again. In respect to rattles and adjustment etc. During past winters I have never had a problem with it rattling. I use plenty of Shin Etsu Grease on all of the mountings. I also fit a piece of "U" shaped rubber trim (Aftermarket) over the front lip where the hardtop butts up against the windscreen rubber. It puts a little more tension on the roof catches and helps stop it rattling.

Another tip is that when I tighten the rear clamps I never push the leavers all the way back. Initally I do but then pull them back just a little to pull the rear down just a little tighter.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Very constructive.

Night time with the heat on is just as good as a sunny day if not better!

theres nothing like driving through tunnels with the roof down

and topless night cruising..

however, I can see why you want to keep the HT 100% of the time. If so, take off your soft top and put it away until you sell up
