Default Hardtop

Hi, has anyone fitted a hardtop to a early Jap import and if so what extra wiring was required for the heated screen.

Thanks, Jim.

You need the full fitting kit including the sockets for the rear catches.

And the extra loom bit for behind the passangers seat and the switch for the centre console.
Even then I'm not sure if the heated screen will work, as i'm not sure that the pre 2001 had the right setup in the fus boxes for the relays and fuses.

I've done mine, thanks to help from Chris Type R, but my car is a 02 UK car. Chris's is a 2000 car or 2001 i beleive? subtle differences to the 2.

Thanks. I know most of the parts I need, its just the wiring loom that I think is different on the early cars. I might just get the body parts from Hardtop guy and make the wiring loom myself.

By the way does anyone know what size van I need to transport a hardtop in.

Regards, Jim

I think that this is because from 02 onwards the car has a heated rear window so already has most of the wiring and the switch in place.

I went the other way and added an 02 hood to an 01 car and used the hardtop wiring to wire up rear heated window.

My HT screen is still not wired up - can't say that it's been a problem though.
