Default Hardtop fitment question

Yesterday i fitted finally the hardtop. It was late in the night with no much light so I did not have the chance to measure the clearences as per manual but it looked allright. I did a test drive though to check for noises. I could not hear any noises over bump roads, most possible due to the fact i applied a lot of Shin-Etsu grease that UK member Davey 2 has helped a lot to purchase it and i thank him for that.

The only thing that occured is that in high speed i could hear some air noise, like air is coming inside the car. It is very little and it seems that was comming behind the drivers seat excactly where the lock pin of the hardtop is. I do not know if it happens the same in the passengers side as i did not have anyone with me.
I did phone a friend of mine that has a hardtop fitted as well and it says that the same is happening to him as well. He has also adjust the hardtop in main Honda dealer and this is normal.

Can you please tell me if this is normal or the hardtop needs adjustment? Does it happening to you also?

I appreciate any feedback.

Chris

Not that I've noticed. More often any 'wind' will come from the top corners where the latches don't always pull the hardtop in tight-enough.

How did you store the hardtop over summer? Is it possible that part of the rear seal has got 'squashed' and isn't sitting flush against the car?

Thank you for your reply. The hardtop was stored in the OEM hardtop stand inside my house so it was stored properly. And about the front latches you are right. They are not tight-enough like the soft top ones but i could not hear any wind noise over there.

Hi Chris,

We have already spoken as you gave me the heads up on the fitting instructions, thanks!!! Anyway haven't noticed an issue concerning major wind around the car, I would suggest greasing all the seals first, make sure that the top sits true at the front and the catches are holding it down tight as if slightly loose this maybe a cause of the wind noise ( if so an S2000 member suggested that fish tanks seals or thin rubber tubing to fit over the hooks will give a lighter fit or the two philips screws behind the latches will also work if loosed and re-set slightly back.

regards

Dave

Thank you Dave for your reply. I will measure the clearences as per manual. Most possible the philips screws need to be tighten. The main issue on that is that the hardtop has an inner linnig covering this screws and i cannot figure how to remove it to have access to the screws. Thank you again for your feedback.

Regards
Chris

Mine starts to let in a bit of air on the front seal about 120.

Great apart from that.

Less of your tsatsiki might help prrrpp!

Actually I notice this as well in my car, because the fitment is never really spot on.
