Default Hardtop Instructions

Words of advice from our good friend Roadkill have indeed come true regarding the hardtop.

It does not always sit down in it's correct position, ie. you can fit your fingers under the back. This prompted me to ask the local dealer if any instructions/booklet/guide was available. My main question is whether the front or rear should be locked down in any order. They have told me that it is so simple that no guidance has been given.

Any help would be very welcome.

Thanks

Noony

My God, I've said something worthy!

Yes, it's a bugger sometimes, Dave. Definately fit the rear connections first - you mustn't put strain on the front catches.
I believe that the holes within the car, that the spiky things slot into, allow you to be slightly off (regarding how far down you insert your spikes). It's no big thing - the roof won't come off as long as you can clamp it all together- but I have found that playing with the "paddles" that rotate the mechanism can help you seat the hard top in a better position. Quite often my Dad and I have just lifted the roof off and tried again, with a better seal on attempt 2 or 3.
I was also worried about the pressure that the front of the roof was having on the windscreen sill as mine is not flush, like I noticed on Colin's in that infamous pub car park. However, Honda were happy with it yesterday so I'm leaving it as is, knowing that Spring is a mere 3 months away and the hard top will grace my lounge for 7 months!

That is total bollox ™ (eds note - comment aimed at dealer, not Roadkill, who may currently be slightly menstrual). ). Tell me the name of the guy that works in your dealership and me and some of the lads will go around there one night and slap him up goodstyle.

I have a book, partnumber 00X31-S2A-R000

S2000 Removable Hardtop
Installation/Removal instructions

Its sat on my lap now (lucky book).

Yes, thank you Colin. We all have a manual. Which part is bollox? Even my dealer said it's a bugger to fit properly. All I'm saying is that OUR hard tops need a little TLC. What are you using ...fish oil lubricant???
What was the point of the third photo? Isn't that a waste of the Earth's resources?
