Default Hazard lights flash when car is locked

I have a problem, whereby the hazards flash on the car when locked. It stays locked, but the lights continue to flash, although not all the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this happens. Are there any sensors that could be triggered?

Many thanks

What model year is your car? Is it UK supplied? Is it the standard alarm?

They should flash 4 times if i remember correct, not sure if its the same but on my previous car the lights would flash longer if i had not closed the door or bonnect correctly , they do this to warn you. It could be a faulty switch i would check them all.

Thanks. It can be after a few hours of leaving the car, they decide to flash a few times and stop, and then flash again some more.

Good point on the switches. I guess you mean the switch for each door and bonnet?

Is it the alarm going off? Have you tested the siren?

Or is it when you unlock the car you get lots of flashes?

Not sure if the alarm is going off. Any way of testing the siren?

Its not when I unlock the car. The car is locked, yet still flashes the hazards some times randomly, sometimes hours after locking the car.

Set the alarm with the roof down and put your hand inside and wave it about, should set the alarm off so you can tell if the siren is working, your lights will flash too.

Press and hold the arm button on the remote, this should activate the alarm.

Or open the boot with the key when armed.

If the hazards just flash and no noise, your siren is kaput
