Default Head unit advice...

Ive still not bought a head unit

I was thinking of one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Blaupunkt-Woodstock-...1QQcmdZViewItem

Is there anything iffy about this? Price looks cheap. Doesn't say they are rejects or anything! Also includes the DAB ariel.

Next question is about the memory stick. How do you get your music onto one of these? I have an Ipod so another option is an Alpine with Ipod interface?

Help appreciated.

Putting music on the mem card is very easy you just need a card reader and copy the music over like using a floppy disc,

Would there be issues with this HD in regard to using the existing audio controls ?

Looks a very cheap price that.

I've been looking for a system which gives the same toys as my company Fiat Grande Punto.

eg.

Bluetooth for my phone
USB for my Thumb drive
iPOD for my umm........ iPOD!

Very difficult. Alpine do have the Ai-Net plug in boxes.
Blaupunk'ed do make a head unit with all of the above (after all they make the Punto unit).
Pioneer also make one (but quality unknown!)

Personally want to stick with the Alpine (excellent service over the years).

I get it now.

It comes with a data card such as one used in mobile / camera. Not sure how you would get your music onto it though?

The link below also says it has a jack to allow Ipod connection. Hmmm.

You buy a card reader for a few pounds and you copy directly from your PC onto the memory card using something like windows explorer.

why not buy a FM tuner transmiter for ur IPOD and that will work just as well, they work well up to 15 feet so in the S it works well put it in centre console attached to the ipod and u will have all ur music on ur already fitted stereo

An adapter for USB sticks, hard drives and MP3 players is due out soon from Alpine. See here.
For those not tied into the iPod way of doing things this looks to be the way forward.

I looked into buying the Woodstock when I uprated my car hifi.

The unit is excellent but the memory stick can only hold a few tracks on it.

I opted for the Alpine 9850Ri absolutely F***in fantastic. It also has a full speed Ipod connection with it (all cabling included).

You can get it from Car Audio Direct with S2K discount.

I would definitely recommend it
