Did any of you find that with your helmet on at Bredford Autodrome that you had to make a positive effort to glance at the speedo and the rev counter as you went around the track? I've not normally noticed the problem, so maybe it was the big waterproof I was wearing that tilted my helmet up a bit, but it did make me think about the relatively cheap HUD currently on the GB forum.

Anyone else intrigued/tempted? I'm undecided at the moment.

Are there any issues with legality this side of the pond?

In what respect?

It is already fitted on some of the BMW's from the factory, so I guess it should be ok.

To be honest I took very little interest in my speed/revs whilst driving at Bedford (apart from the straight where I had to try keep below 60mph ).

When my mate Andy was driving I did watch the rev counter (he rarely got into VTEC)

In the "sticking something on your windscreen" respect (the mylar sheet).

I don't know if this has changed over the last few years but I seem to recall there were a few things that you couldn't add aftermarket but were fine if factory fitted, bizarrely, so I wouldn't rely on the fact that some cars already have them as indicating their aftermarket legality

I'm not saying these ARE illegal at all, or would knacker the MoT. Just that given our, sometimes assinine, regulations and laws about cars and motoring, that it might be worth confirming first

That surprises me, he must have come away thinking that the CarboTat™ isn't particularly quick?

I think the final drive has thrown me a bit - until recently I was changing too early (the extra mid range pull is slightly disceptive, isn't it ) but I hit the rev limiter on the back straight at Bedford once, which is very unusual for me.

Nah! he didn't want to get the car black flagged again and he still didn't have any problems keeping up with any of the other S2000s through the bends

He was doing that when I went out with him, trying to keep the noise down. Bit of a shame as I was hoping to see the full on effect of your mods. The car pulled much better than the other S2ks I went in on the day though - and that was from 3/4 -> 6k revs. Top end must be nice

I'll see what I can do about having one of my legs removed at the hip so I can fit in the passenger seat more easily next time....
