Default Heat exchanger

Sorry for the new thread, I have looked around and have seen people removing them but I need clarification on bypassing the water lines.

Do you just block them off or do you join them together?

Had oil temp hit 120 on track and it cooked the water (one bar below red on dash), it dropped back to normal once I lift and do couple corners coasting.
I do have a 16 row cooler but maybe I need to go for a 19? Also got a mishimoto rad but OEM fans. Also HKS supercharged.
The theory is the oil got so hot it started to heat the water so want to remove it.

I am open to opinions and advise on this as not sure what to do to get temps down (it was 28 degrees out at Silverstone and I was pushing it a bit hard trying to keep up with my mate in his Porsche GT3 ha).

Ta

Not sure I've ever heard of an S overheating water on track. What state is your radiator in?
Or is it FI?

Yeah something is not right.
Just to clarify, your temp reading on the stock cluster had 6 of the 7 segments lit up?

I have a mishimoto x flow with standard oem fans.
Running HKS supercharger.
Yes 6 of the 7 bars illuminated although I am not 100% sure what temperature that actually is as I know the AEM EMS v2 can make that gauge be off a bit?

I've had my oil temp at 130 degrees C and my water temp was still at 50% of the facelift gauge reading. Not sure exactly how that maps to a prefacelift dash

I wonder if air flow to rad is compromised as I have the condenser, oil coolers for charger and engine then intercooler all before the rad.

I had oil temps over 120°C on track with coolant still super stable at around 90°C.
If your coolant temp really was that high and your head gasket hasn't failed then you are very very lucky.
Even at only 4 bars there is very high risk of damage, but since you are using the AEM EMS the sensor calibration is probably a lot different.

well I got shit scared when I saw it jump so backed off and did a few cool down laps and came in.
Didn't take it out after that and the drive home was fine, no mayo or any leaks that I can see so fingers crossed I got away with it.

Maybe worth investigating further on your sensor calibration.

perfect ta.
It's alwasy read in the middle when up to temp so maybe its the higher temps where its gone a bit exagerated.
Will check tonight and let you all know.
In the mean time, does anyone know of any ways I could improve my cooling setup?
