Experimenting today with the hood-down setting on the heating/vent control (the top was down as the sun was out quite a bit). I had thought I was supposed to get a blast of hot air out of the vents at mid-height, just below the dash AND lots of hot air out of the vents just behind the steering wheel to keep your hands warm...

Trouble is the right hand vent behind the steering wheel was working well, but nothing came out of the left-hand vent at all, no matter what I did with its 'direction wheel' thingy. The passenger vent was sending out a lot of hot air....

If I set the heating control to some of the other settings, eg the one where air comes out to the footwell and the dash vents then air did come out of this left-hand vent, but not on the 'top-down' setting... is this the way it's meant to be??

Thanks

on the roof down setting nothing comes out of the higher level vents* it just comes out of the middle ones and at your feet. I think the idea is that if it comes out too high up that you lose it straight away ?

* the right hand vent ALWAYS has air coming out of it Probably to keep the drivers window clear?

The roof off mode is ok to warm your knees up when its dead cold, but I still find that I need an occasional blast through the top ones to prevent frostbitten fingers.

Yeah, I think the roof down function is crap. My legs are sweating and my top have is freezing, there needs to be an inbetween setting I think.

Agree, never use it. The setting for feet and face is much more effective
