Default A hell of a lot of blue smoke

Blue smoke and bad smells coming from my MY00 almost permenantly.... I have had the exhaust mod plus a decat fitted and my god it's burning some oil! I think my engine is throwing a big wobbly!

Check you haven't got too much oil in, and that the breather system is clear.

I have to top the oil up weekly so it's not got too much, I will check the breather system this evening. Thank you MB!

No, maybe 250 miles a week. I hope it's not rings!

Excessive oil consumption on an N/A engine can only really be valve guides, valve seals, bores or rings. Maybe overfilled or a blocked breather.

Well it's smoking even when the oil level is at the minimum mark so unless it's a breather then I guess it needs a more in depth investigation :/

Do a compression test and see what the readings are. If they're all within tolerance it's more likely to be your valve guides or valve stem oil seals.

Smoke on start-up = valve stem oil seals
Smoke on engine break (when you release the clutch) = Rings (creates a vacuum which pulls the smoke out of the cylinder)

I have just been through this whole nightmare on my S, first rebuilt the head in the hope that it would fix it. It didn't..

Ended up doing an engine swap to a 30k engine. All I'm saying is don't make my mistake and hope a new head gasket and vale seals will fix the issue without checking everything over. lots of time and money wasted..
